An American Silver Sabbath Implement

An American Silver Sabbath Implement

0.00

Set on a tray with a ring-shaped handle, this tray features two vessels for the Havdallah service, and both feature cut-out lettering to identify their use. From left to right: the candle holder, and the spice container. Hallmarks for the Revere Silver Company of Brooklyn, New York. The mark was in use until 1955. The style of Hebrew lettering seen here was just coming into use in the USA during this period, and is most often seen on silver Torah implements of Conservative Synagogues of the era, what was then considered “modern”.
