Letherette covered brass. Circa 1945. Due to the destruction of all Jewish life from Eastern Europe during World War Two, the original Kletsk yeshiva was closed down and relocated to Lakewood, New Jersey in 1943 by Rabbi Aaron Kotler, known as one of the greatest Rabbis of the 20th century. This box showcases the desire of the surviving Orthodox Jews of Europe to continue to practice their values and ideals of Judaism in their new and unfamiliar homeland, America.
