Of beaker form resting on three balled feet. Engraved by the rim in Hebrew is the blessing over wine. The body is engraved with scrollwork, imitating identically shaped 17th century German beakers which would also have had scrollwork designs. On the underside of the base is an engraved presentation in German from a Tante (Aunt), Helene Wexler to the recipient, on occasion of his “Barmitzvoh”. Germany, circa 1890, marked. Notice how careful attention was paid so that the presentation could not be seen when the beaker was viewed, and therefore not be a distraction of the beauty of this instrument of Jewish ritual use.
