From the 18th century. Titled “Ein Polnischer Jud”, hand-colored engraving by Caspar Luyken, signed in the plate. This is from a series of one hundred plates showing late-seventeenth century costumes of a wide range of social classes representing various nationalities, mostly set in their own country, published as a book. The original edition was published by Christoph Weigel in Nuremberg, 1703. This engraving was torn out from a book, and it is not possible to know from which edition.
