A unique and important Damascene Vase. Handcrafted in Damascus, Syria, circa 1880, the vase is baluster shaped with trumpet shaped spout. The vase is adorned with silver overlay Arabic letters and design, as well as flora and fauna motives, including birds and snakes. At the top of the vice, engraved in gold inside distinguished oval shapes are the Hebrew words forming the adage: “Wealth will not serve no aid on the day of judgment. ”
